Terms of Service

Please read these terms carefully before using PriceForge.

Last updated: February 22, 2026

1. Introduction & Acceptance

PriceForge ("we", "our", or "us") provides a CS2 Steam market price API for developers. By accessing or using our service, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the service.

2. Beta Access & Future Billing

PriceForge is currently offered through a private developer beta. Beta access is granted by invitation, and self-serve billing is not active at this stage.

Any future billing rollout will be announced separately after beta validation. Questions about beta access can be sent to [email protected].

3. Service Description

PriceForge provides a Steam-only REST API for CS2 market data. The private beta currently supports catalogue access, explicit availability states for current-price lookups, recorded history where observations already exist, API keys, and browser-session onboarding.

Beta responses may report that a current price is unavailable, stale, not yet eligible, never observed, or not in the catalogue. Participation in the beta does not guarantee current-price coverage for any item.

4. Account & API Keys

  • You must register for an API key to access the service.
  • API keys are confidential and must not be shared publicly or with unauthorized third parties.
  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your API key.
  • One account per person or legal entity.
  • You must be at least 13 years of age to use this service.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Resell raw API data or provide it as a competing service.
  • Abuse the API through intentional overloading or denial-of-service attacks.
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the service.
  • Use the service for any illegal purpose or in violation of any applicable laws.
  • Scrape, crawl, or use automated means to access the service outside of the provided API.

6. Subscriptions & Billing

  • Public paid subscriptions are not active during the private beta.
  • If billing is introduced later, pricing, taxes, plan changes, and invoicing will be documented before launch.
  • Beta invitations do not create a paid subscription.

7. Cancellation & Refund Policy

Because public billing is not active during the private beta, there is currently no self-serve subscription to cancel and no live refund workflow to invoke.

If paid access is introduced later, the applicable cancellation and refund policy will be published before launch. For archived billing language, see our Refund Policy.

8. Data Availability & Recorded History

  • PriceForge is provided on a best-effort basis. We do not guarantee specific uptime or offer a formal SLA.
  • Catalogue and history responses reflect recorded Steam observations and may be incomplete or unavailable for some items.
  • Current-price endpoints may return structured unavailable responses instead of a numeric current value.
  • We may perform scheduled or emergency maintenance that temporarily affects service availability.

9. Intellectual Property

PriceForge owns all rights to the API, its documentation, branding, and underlying technology. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the service without permission.

You retain full ownership of any applications, bots, or tools you build using the PriceForge API.

10. Limitation of Liability

The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.

PriceForge shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or trading losses resulting from decisions made based on API data.

Our total liability for any claim arising from the service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the service at any time if you violate these Terms of Service, abuse the API, or engage in activities that harm other users or the service.

You may cancel your account and stop using the service at any time.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

For material changes, we will notify you via the email address associated with your account at least 14 days before the changes take effect.
